Job Description
A line cook at a country club in Florida typically has the following responsibilities and qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- 1. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and stocks, using various kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and broilers.
- 2. Station Management: Set up, maintain, and clean the assigned cooking station, ensuring all necessary ingredients and equipment are ready for service.
- 3. Recipe Adherence: Follow standardized recipes and daily prep lists to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
- 4. Inventory and Requisition: Take inventory of items required for the station and request additional supplies as needed.
- 5. Sanitation and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and comply with health and food safety standards, including proper storage and handling of food.
- 6. Collaboration: Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of dishes.
- 7. Customer Service: Occasionally interact with club members or guests to accommodate special requests or dietary needs.
Qualifications:- 1. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- 2. Education: High school diploma or GED; culinary training is a plus.
- 3. Skills: Knowledge of food handling and preparation principles, ability to operate kitchen equipment, and strong time management and communication skills.
- 4. Certifications: Food safety certification is required.
- 5. Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in hot and humid conditions.
